Our policy provides a lump sum benefit for an Accidental Death or Dismemberment for members whose department doesn’t have the funds to provide more extensive benefits. It can provide 24-hour benefits or provide benefits for members while on duty only. This is also an economical tool for recruitment and retention.
Length of Service Award programs (LOSAP) offer incentives that mimic a simple pension plan. Based on number of years a volunteer is active and meeting certain requirements, a cash service award becomes payable at a designated age. Service Award programs are one of the many benefits we offer to help improve recruitment and retention of emergency service volunteers.
