Emergency medical services (EMS) providers operate in an environment where risk is not the exception—it is the norm. Every response carries potential hazards, not only for the patient but for responders and the community as a whole. While the mission is to provide care, the reality is that safety must remain the first priority.

Our upcoming webinar, “Staying Safe on EMS Runs” highlights a critical truth: EMS is not easy and the most dangerous situations for providers and patients are often the ones we encounter most frequently. During the presentation we will look at three main areas we see people get hurt or in trouble:

  • Lifting and moving patients
  • Encountering potentially violent situations and unrest
  • Vehicle collisions

The rate of injury in each area are the three leading ways responders are injured and also lead to serious injury to patients and others, and often result in civil liability. Though awareness of the risks and factors that cause these events, we hope to aide you in avoiding the disastrous results when the events occur.

We look forward to having you join us and sharing your thoughts on this week’s “Wednesday Night Webinar”.
