Summary:

The Claim Services Analyst plays a key role in supporting the claims department. This position is responsible for accurate data entry, telephonic communication with internal and external stakeholders, assistance preparing reports/visual data, and overall support to departmental operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently.

This role includes supporting claims related to educational institutions. The Claims Services Analyst will work closely with school administrators, district representatives, and other educational stakeholders to ensure claims are entered efficiently and with sensitivity to the unique needs of academic environments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Receive and validate First Notice of Loss (FNOL) data for claim setup in the claims management system.
  2. Initiate claim setup based on FNOL data or at the direction of a Claims Adjuster, Supervisor, or Manager.
  3. Perform data entry and reconciliation tasks, including sorting and managing electronic and paper records.
  4. Handle diverse telephone responsibilities, including collecting FNOL data via phone, serving as the first point of contact for insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, medical providers, and other stakeholders, verifying and relaying information per internal procedures and authorization from Claim Leadership.
  5. Perform a variety of administrative tasks as assigned, which may include: conducting follow-up calls related to First Notice of Loss (FNOL) or data management; processing physical and electronic mail generated by the claims management system; supporting expense bill handling under the direction of Claims Management; assisting with regulatory compliance activities; and collaborating with the Claims team to enhance operational efficiency.
  6. Extract and manage data for reporting purposes, including the creation of exhibits and graphs under the guidance of the Claims Administrative Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High-school degree or equivalent, college degree or coursework preferred.
  • Experience working with public school entities or institutional claims preferred. 
  • The ability to succeed and excel in a collaborative and team-based environment.
  • Strong time management and desk management skills.  
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and manage various types of data.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate efficiently in a Windows-based environment using Excel, Word and Outlook as well as company claim administration software.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and move items up to 25 lbs when needed.
  • Proficient in using a keyboard, mouse, and phone.
  • Able to communicate clearly by phone and in person.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes, including meetings, training, or other business needs.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel independently as required.

Hours: Full-time
Compensation:
$40,000-$60,000
