First Responders are being called to more and more cases of overdoses or drug labs gone wrong. While Fire and EMS agencies are more likely to be called after something has gone wrong, it doesn’t eliminate the potential hazards that today’s illicit drugs carry.
Residual drug exposure is becoming prevalent for First Responders due to the ever evolving methods of narcotics manufacturing. Even what seems like the most routine call can have the potential to expose you and your partner to deadly situations. Taking basic and simple precautions may help save your life.
Check out our McNeil Monthly bulletin “Siren Time: Residual Drug Exposure” for recommended precautions to take when on a drug-related call.
